You have arrived at my blog for one reason… the love for some good burger, that is! I’ve had some pretty good burgers in Dundee but these three joints definitely do not disappoint! I bet you’d agree with me. Let’s get down to business!

Duke’s Corner is actually introduced me to sweet potato fries. They cooked it crispy on the outside and soft in the centre. Ahhhhh… Their burgers sounds absolutely scrumptious and mighty fine! Just look at this one in the photo. I believe it was called Steak & Cheese (menu has changed so not available anymore). It was served in this Moroccan inspired dish giving it a touch of boho. I did not end up finishing the burger itself because it was quite big and filling. The price is very reasonable where a burger with fries could range from £7.50 – £10.50 depending on what type you want. The restaurant/bar is quite popular with students as they are close to two universities. They have gigs or events on most nights, serve Scottish craft and international beers to pair perfectly with your burger, a beer garden for people to enjoy the occasional ray of sunshine, and have I mentioned dogs are welcome here too?!
Have you ever wondered what crocodile meat would taste like? How about a zebra burger? Tonic, to put it simply, specializes in anything between two pieces of bread (and cocktails). Once you see the menu, you’d really want to try them all. When I went there for the first time, I ordered this monster of a burger. It was a regular Mofo Burger (That’s a 6oz. Sizes can go up to 24oz here people). As you can probably tell, it has jalapenos, chorizo, pepperoni, beef chilli, fresh chillis and f*cking death on a plate. Death by goodness! However, if this is not for you then feel free to explore 40 other variations of gourmet burgers they offer. If you are feeling adventurous or just up for something different, you can change the patty to venison, ostrich, kangaroo, wild boar, and the two other types of meat mentioned above. The restaurant/bar itself is of a decent size. Best place to hangout with your pals and chill. The price for a burger with fries starts from £7.95 all the way to £21. The place has a very relaxed but cool vibe. Just beware. Under 18s are not allowed in the restaurant even if accompanied by an adult.
If you crave for a burger that almost melts in your mouth, then Droughty’s would definitely satisfy that hunger! This Pulled Pork burger I had was succulent and definitely the bomb! If I wasn’t having a work lunch, I would have ordered a pint to pair with this! They stock over 50 bottles of beer with a focus on local products. The menu itself is not extensive but their burgers are soooo good, you’ll never get tired of the taste. Droughty’s is a quality pub with a rock & roll atmosphere. The place is loud, lively and always busy! You’d get a good mixture of students, lecturers and other working class people during lunch as it is near one of the universities and also near some shops. Price ranges from £7.50 to £10 for a burger and fries. Definitely a good value for money.
Hope you guys found this post helpful especially if you are visiting in Dundee. If you are a passerby that just happened to click this post then I hope I just made you salivate so hard that you’d want to come and visit our wee city. 😉
Til next blog! 😉
